About The Candidate

I have lived in the Upstate of South Carolina for 15 years.  I currently live with my wife and two children in the beautiful city of Greer.  I own Carolina Painting and enjoy meeting new clients and growing my business in this flourishing community.  My children are five and six years old, and we enjoy playing soccer, kayaking, and ice skating at the Pavilion.  My business is something I am proud of, but my family is my passion.

I received my Associates Degree from Spartanburg Methodist College, my Bachelor's Degree in Business from Anderson University, my Master's Degree in History from Converse College, and I am currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education from North Greenville University.  My research focus is student loan reform.  I also studied Public Policy at Clemson University for three years at the doctoral level, and currently serve as a member of the Alumni Board at Anderson University.

Work Experience

While I enjoy owning a small business, I have also taken advantage of other opportunities in my spare time that have proven to be equally fulfilling.  I am currently an adjunct instructor of Political Science at North Greenville University.  I also taught Sunday School for an incredible special needs class at First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg.  My time at the church reinforced my belief that children will exceed our expectations every time they have the opportunity.  I spent three years as the Head JV and Assistant Varsity Men's Soccer Coach at Riverside High School, and I also served as a Head Coach with Furman United Soccer Club for two seasons.  I am blessed to have had the opportunity to work with some wonderful people and spend time with many incredible young men and women over the years.  It brings me great joy and excitement to look forward to the next chapter in front of me.

I started my volunteer work as a soccer coach with AYSO Region 722 in Boiling Springs.  I coached children in that region for five years.  While living in Spartanburg, I volunteered as a guest speaker for at-risk middle school students with Project AIM, and I served as a delivery driver for Mobile Meals.  Once we relocated to Greer, I coached children with Greer Recreation Department in both soccer and t-ball, and I have delivered meals for Greer Community Ministries for the last two years.
